IOS 5 features.

Print a map
Look up a location on the Maps app, press the icon to roll it back and you’ll see a brand new print option. It’s perfect for giving directions to a friend without giving them your actual iPhone.

Keep iMessages secret
Tap into the Settings screen for messages and you’ll see how many devices are receiving messages to your Apple ID. If you remove your email address, you’ll stop any other device with iOS 5 and your account details from snooping on your iMessages. Perfect if you’ve left a connected iPad at home in reach of someone else.

Get hourly weather forecasts
Open the weather app, tap on a daily forecast and you’ll see an hour by hour breakdown of the incoming stormfronts or sunshine. If you have an iPhone 4S, Siri will even read this stuff to you too.

Add text shortcuts
Duck into the settings for your iPhone’s keyboard, scroll to the bottom and tap add new shortcut. Now you can add whole sentences, just by tapping a few keys. Ideal, if you’re always apologising for lateness for example. This will be a real blessing to heavy work emailers: previous text expanders for iPhone by their very nature would only work in apps that supported them.

Use the LED flash as an alert
OK, so it’s not the same as a tiny LED on the front of a BlackBerry or HTC Android phone, but it’s a useful move nonetheless: you can set the LED flash for the camera on the back of your iPhone to flash to notify you to missed calls and messages. You’ll find it in the accessibility options, but even if you have perfect vision it’s still worth investigating.20111013-112914.jpg

Apple IOS 5.

Only a few hours, or should i say minutes left till the launch of Apples new IOS. Thought i should write a review about it.

Apple IOS 5

Some of the key features that the iOS 5 brings along are an entirely new notifications system, a free messaging app, systemwide Twitter integration, newsstand and Wi-Fi sync among others. The iOS 5 is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone, iPad, iPad 2 and iPod Touch third and fourth generation.

One new feature is the notifications system. The iPhone and its cousins the iPod touch and iPad have handled notifications poorly for a long time.

If a text message arrived while you were playing a game, for example, then it would interrupt everything and place a message in the middle of the screen. The game would not resume until you had dealt with the message. Alerts that arrived when your device was inactive caused a different problem: unlock the screen without thinking and the notifications would disappear, leaving you wondering which app required your attention.

iOS 5 sweeps all of that away with Notification Centre. Swipe down from the top of your screen and you’ll see all of the notifications that require your attention. Weather reports, stock prices, calendar entries and more can all be stored there. Android users will rightly point out that Apple’s implementation here is very similar to the way notifications work on Android.

However, as ever with Apple the important bits are the details, the ‘fit and finish’ of the feature, and it is these that make notifications a triumph. Whether it’s the ability to ‘unlock’ a notification itself and go straight to the relevant app (instead of unlocking the screen and then opening the app) or the way that notifications subtly roll in at the top of the screen while you’re doing something else, the implementation is excellent.

The slight texture to the background of Notification Centre and the way that incoming notifications slide the graphics of the app back into place are both pleasing touches. These are subjective things but they matter to Apple users and they help to make iOS devices such a joy to use.

iOS 5 organizes your magazine and newspaper app subscriptions in Newsstand: a folder that lets you access your favorite publications quickly and easily. There’s also a new place on the App Store just for newspaper and magazine subscriptions. And you can get to it straight from Newsstand.

iOS 5 brings even more web-browsing features to iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Safari Reader displays web articles sans ads or clutter so you can read without distractions. Reading List lets you save interesting articles to peruse later, while iCloud keeps your list updated across all your devices. On iPad, tabbed browsing helps you keep track of multiple web pages and switch between them with ease. And iOS 5 improves Safari performance on all your iOS devices.

iOS 5 makes it even easier to tweet from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Sign in once in Settings, and suddenly you can tweet directly from Safari, Photos, Camera, YouTube, or Maps.

One of the best features of IOS 5 is Siri. Siri on iPhone 4S lets you use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more. Ask Siri to do things just by talking the way you talk. Siri understands what you say, knows what you mean, and even talks back.

iPhone 4 Review

Okay. iPhone 3 then 3GS, now 4? Honestly what is Steve Jobs trying to do? I mean, already years ahead of his time he created a the iPhone 3gs and now 4? What do you think are the biggest drawbacks of the new iPhone? Tell us in the comments section below.

When the iPhone 3GS hit the stores, people went crazy. It was faster, had a longer battery life and had quite the list of added features. The Apple iPhone 4 is no different. With four times the pixel count of previous iPhone models, dual cameras and video features that are leaps and bounds not only ahead of previous iPhone models but smartphones in general, the iPhone 4 is easily the best of the best video calling phones on the market.
Okay lets cut the chace and move on to what we all want to know about the iPhone 4. The SPECS!
  • A4 chip: Not much to say here. Just a work of excellence.
  • The camera shows a unique aspect of photography with the auto focus, led flash, and topping all that, the face detection.
  • Record a masterpiece with the 1080p 30fps, and led light.
  • Display has a all new Retina display with as usual multi display.

If you’re one of those wannabe hackers and people that spend heaps of time on the go and want to feel connected, this is for you. If you create ftp servers around the house, want to access it? Use the iPhone. Facetime with the kids back home. Never miss a moment from your first childs graduation.
A look at the apps. Speechless. The app store is a one of a kind, nothing can come in its way. The way it’s structured and simplified into a everyday usage panel is outstanding. You can literally find EVERYTHING on it. From those old jokes in the 80’s to a gym log book.

Best of all, ITS CHEAP!

I dont know what else to say about it. Its a piece of art, streamlined couldnt get better than this. I’d think of doing a comparison post between the ios and android OR htc and iPhone. So head down to your nearest Apple products retailer and get one ’cause i literally walked right up the first day it came out and bough it and enjoying EVERY bit of it. Once again, its brilliance perfected.
Just took us to a whole new level.
